while engine was out i took advanatge and so matt had changed the clutch to a LUK oem clutch equivalent to a sachs which are famous for their strength and clamp holding abilities (With a torque rating of near 300 ft/lb) you cant go wrong.
the standard 228mm flywheel is being used and will hold up well for this conversion.
im using the drive by cable throttle body as this eliminates complications with matting it to the pedal, however matt had fabricated a mount for the cable to move without interruptions.
in regards to ecu ,the car starts, idles, revs perfectly however gavin will recaliberate the ecu for 24v mapping which he'll then consider the cai that is already on the car. therefore im using the factory keys (thankgod for that) and the multifunction screen works as a result (oem look and feel).
for the exhaust manifold im getting a custom y pipe (downpipe to mate with the 24v manifold to the factory cat back system.
and as mentioned above reason why im using a AUE engine besides the fact that there the only ones in australia ( i think) is it uses many of the 12v ignition componenets like the coil pack etc. and 2nd cam bank sensors dont have to be wired in to the ecu, simplifying as much hicupps as possible. this has no detriment on the power as all 24v engines produce 200+ bhp.
hope this answers your questions
heres a pic of the downpipe to connect from 24v headers to 12v cat back

Reason: adding pic of downpipe
this is just off my head
well if you find an engine your looking at $2300-3500
and you might as well replace the clutch $280
replace the water pump , order a alternator bracket from germany takes a couple of weeks to get here and that around $170
making sure your intake manifold is in good condition if not $250
nuts bolts, brackets and welsh plugs arund $300
while using parts that are already from your 12v like coilpacks if they are already faulty you know how much they are,
definite need of aue meaty Spark leads $170 beru german quality stuff.
couple of hundred for exhaust fabrication
so on and so on
and besides labour your looking at around $4000
did i mention it was an expensive obsession ----------------------------priceless
