  • 24v 2.8 golf 3 vr6

Hey guys i'm new to the volkswagen mechanical side of things, and i am just wondering if a 24v 2.8 vr6 with engine codes AQP / AUE / BDE can mate in to a golf 3 vr6 chassis and gearbox.

If so what are the requirements.
    thanks guys.......

              well well well,

it been a long time comming and im stoked to say, (thanks to matt, could not have done it with you and workshop), an AUE 24V VR6 has taken its place in a rare back colour concept.

by the looks of it, the engine seems really tight and is a great look to an already great car.

alot of fabricating and modifications had been made which matt patiently acheived, however this car is australia's first

              24v 2.8 golf 3 vr6

and knowing that this project has been acheived down under will hopefully encourage all to follow in the same path in search for NA power.

enough talking more pictures........ excuse the pictures there not the best quality

ill have pictures of the completed car soon.

Is this an engine from a Bora or something?

this is an engine from a bora 4 motion. main differences beetween this and the bdf is the vvt which this hasnt got (good in my case).

Ah thought so. Nice work - but is there a noticeable difference with the 12v? I.e is it worth all the effort??

Nice one man, I was hoping you'd show me some 24 valve lovin'

I'd consider bolting a 24v head to mine if it wasn't too hard and gave a nice feel to the car, so I'm keen for a report when ready too!

Dubbed: the 4motion engine is a really nicely revving engine because the doubled amount of valves make it want to rev. If you're using it with a 6speed gearbox like the 4motions do, then it goes nuts! But in the long run mk3 vr6's and bora 4motion's are supposedly matched with speed because of weight difference

Mate(s) here stuck the 24v in a mk3 wagon - full and total groundup conversion, subframes, rear beam, mk4 interior etc...
                            A real sleeper this one!

well compared to the 12v, 4motion engines respond far better to modifications than the 12v as the head flows far better = more efficient.
