But please put your number plate in the normal spot, its not like there is a FMIC or oil cooler

BTW I do like the front lip and sill covers....

I didnt want to offset it either for that very reason so I made it silly and crooked it; It looks stupid and boring in the middle, so besides it'd be hindering more airflow being where it is rather than being on the bumper anyways so it'd be a pointless move for a front mount!

      3. Use 60 or 80 grit sandpaper in a circular pattern on the inside where you marked, careful not to wander into the other fluted areas
      4. Progress to 220 grit until all deep scratches are gone
      5. Progress to 400 grit with water grit until you see a uniform haze without scratches
      6. Progress to 1000 grit with water until it looks clear with water
      7. Progress to 1500 or 2000 grit and get as smooth as possible. When dry, they should look about like Scotch tape.
      8. Use Megiar's PlastX to polish until perfectly clear.
I just noticed the first thing to do was to source plastic lenses!
So this can't be done with glass??

a pretty major expense to only use the lense

      • Our current lenses ARE plastic actually. Some polycarbonate compound, but I'm pretty sure they aren't glass.
        Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
        Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

            • I've got nothing to substantiate my claims except that if they were glass, they would be a lot heavier! Are there any markings on the lenses? If they were polycarbonate, they should have some designation code for the type of material used.

                          • Well the inevitable has happened

I've been served a defect notice, OUT THE FRONT OF MY HOUSE! haha, they chased after me and pulled me up just before I was about to turn into my driveway . . .

After 30mins of them on the phone to the transport officers finding out what they can do me for, he hopped out of the car and says he was going to give me a major defect which involves visiting the pits and court but for some ungodly reason he dropped it to a minor! FCUKIN AY! maybe I woo'd them with my innocence and charm

Whilst fingering rubber out of the rear guards the officer says "this is the worst example i've ever encounted, yeh it looks funky but it's just plain dangerous".

So i'm thinking about selling it and getting something else now, something more sedan like and grown up now that i'm 25 kind of bored anyways

                            -----------------------

The Vr6 is getting the Haltech PS2000 treatment soon too, updates when **** starts rollin there

                              • It was good while it lasted, would it cost much to get it road worthy? What could you replace it with though, something vw or just anything as a run-around?
