        • jeez, this thread was all the way back on page4! how this forum moves so quickly!

well small update, only small because i'm still yet to install the rear poly strut mounts, oil cooler and the lsd and ring and pinion into the box, its my damb daily and havnt found the time for it to be unusable : (

also i'm getting really bored of the whole black and white theme, so hopefully by the nats it'll be a lil different ; ) no shots of the new scheme till the nats just to annoy those who are interested . . .

though for now i've started cleaning up all the wireing throughout the car that has now been exposed due to panels being removed. I'll be painting the interior matt black I think? not 100% yet, but i dont want it to be too reflective. I'm removing the abs so hence no controller or loom, all the rear light wires have been "loomed" and re-routed and no more central locking! ahh, haha, so no more air lines running everywhere (ps, the ladies love how i have to open their door now ). So just two dodgey shots of the rear so far, still some sound deadning to remove and sticky tape stuff then a light sand and spraaay away!

also i rip my euro lip off everytime I enter and exit my garage and the other day i forgot to click it back in before i set on my journey it dragged for ages because i could hear it but I didnt even think it to be the lip, it finally let go and i ran over it! as i look in my rear view haha, it broke so i've now reapaired it, plastic welded and sewn back together

          • the tear looks pretty sick tho in a way aha. Should definitely give the back area a good clean, get all the dirt, grime, sticky crap off it for now, even if it's not getting painted for a while.

Can't wait to see the car in person, tho I dunno if I could live without aircon and a stereo lol. Maybe aircon, but not without music D:

Ever had it dyno'd? What sort of kw-per-tonne have you got there? Stock weight is what 1.2t, what's yours at?

It's looking good Alex. Are you gonna be keeping the rear seats out?

                • I like your style Alex!

I wouldn't be too keen on spraying the back area black, just because it'll attract a buck load of heat if nothing else!

How's the noise with nothing back there? Ear bleed much??

                  • Get out the angle grinder and cut out the rear seat support, that'll save a few kgs...

um, you think heat will be a factor?? what should i do then?? and i think the noise is aight but others sometimes complain my mum says its load but she doesnt mind so it cant be that bad . . .

                      • Looking good mate! If u have a look at a lot of motorsport cars they dont really go for the black interior. Maybe just give it another coat of clean whit

                        • Yeah Alex I'd go for a white again but maybe a satin white if you don't want shine? I think satin white (or even a metal grey colour?) would look awesome!

                            • dude, you're VR6 looks sweet in the flesh, i know cause i spotted you last night!

i was heading out of West End via the William Jolly Bridge, then Caxton St and ICB.

I was in the Ming blue Audi A3T, was in front of you for a bit. I was mighty impressed bro. looks tuff! love the Vento front end too. It had me confused til i read this, your headlights in my rear view mirror did but didn't look mk3, and i was confused... but of course Vento!

                              Respect

                              • Everyone should feel very jealous, I got to ride with Alex round the mountains on the cruise on Sunday! If you thought the car looked fast, then you'd be very very right, it's an absolute animal through the corners, and on the straights he only used all the revs a few times, mostly changing at 4k, which was more than enough I thought.

Slight scrubbing every now and then, but the Golf Gti's couldn't even keep up with it. Brembo's are amazing, stopped the car like nothing else, and there wasn't any bodyroll at all.

A couple of rattles to fix maybe hey alex but otherwise I thought it went really well. What sort of speeds were we going round those really wide bends on the way to mt tamborine? I couldn't see the speedo..

But yea, thanks for giving me a ride, it was the most fun I've had in a long time, very inspirational for when I finally get my car
