  • My Golf resto

So this is my Golf Mk2 3dr resto, it isnt an original gti i believe but i have a 5dr donor that is supplying me will most of the mechanical parts and some interior parts e.g. the 1.8l 8v engine, the dash and many small bits and pieces. i am sourcing most of the parts form the uk which i can get cheap as but unfortunately cost lost to post. the interior has seen better days i am working on getting gti seats and have to reupholster/rebuild the door cards. the roof is also damaged and needs work. Now heres the big kicker we are respraying the car because we have to do so much body work we cant get around it, because of money restraints we are doing majority of the work our selves. anyway here are the original GumTree photos.

Beneath all those cobwebs and leaves is probably a reasonably straight car!
As long as there is no rust- you have the basis for a great project car.
I envy 3 door golf owners!!

Normally I'd be upset with anyone stripping such a good looking 4 door (looks just like mine ) but if it's to restore a 2 door then heII yes!

Can you post a full size picture of your avatar.

          Cheers

          Paul

That is a sweet looking Golf. Love those 17's on it.

Are you doing a resto or will you be modifying it?

                      Nice! My old Mk2 project.
I can give you some history if you like.
It's an 88 Driver. Uk Import.
Door cards are GTI (out of my 87 GTI).
I bought it to use as a daily, but on the way home after purchase the oil pressure blew the oil filter in half. LOL
After lots of stuffing around and not finding the problem a 16v went in....But it just sat around, as I wanted to spend money on the GTI .

                      Cheers, Benny

using wood work glue, paper macheing and clamps to straighten and patch up the holes and water damaged areas.
