Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks, I've taken a break from working on cars for a while but it's feeling good to be doing a bit again.
Not sure of the brand of coil overs, I'm getting them off a mate but I don't think they'll be cheap ones.

I repaired and repainted the bumbers and plastic trim this weekend. Pretty happy with the results, she's starting to scrub up nicely. The list is getting smaller.

Looks really good. Coilovers and some spacers on the back will have it looking PHAT!

So tonight I took the grill off to see if I could repair some of the clips, then notice that the bumper was a little warped on the pass side. Then realised the bumper reinforcement was a bit too much of a banana and the bracket was bent on the drivers side so I ended up with this....

It looks like she's had a bit of a touch up in the front, all but two clips along the bumper are broken, Would anyone have a solution for this?

Got the bumper brackets straightened back up, closed the shut gap on the bonnet, repaired a couple of broken clips on the grill.
Now I just have to wait from a suitable amount of cash to show up for a ecu and my coil overs.

In the process of changing the shifter bushes. I think they're over due.

I actually didn't think it was too bad. Its fairly safe to say it will be a whole lot better tho. Ebay special mate.

                        Very easy to change brad.
take one of the links off, undo the top nut, take off the bottom clip and slide it out.

the factory ball is soft and has lots of give, replacing it for an acetyl ball makes a huge improvement

Sorry Brad I miss read your post, as Stiggy said it was pretty straight forward. I got the whole kit, the only thing I haven't replaced is the ball and seat for the shifter itself. Tightened the whole thing up with only a little play. Awesome!

So this is my first post for a long time, my car has been off the road for way too many years.
The urge hit me a few months ago so I got back into it.

With the dash out, it's a good time to re tape the ****ty foam areas in the heater system.

I split the heater from the AC, it made the job a lot easier.
Up next was the wiring, I sorted it all years ago but failed to label well, but I got there, mostly, I hope.

I threw the dash back in hopefully for the last time and that where it sits at the moment.

I also found anither interior up for sale on FB, I had to get rid of the home custom front seats. That's the pink one.
