Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        Cheers!

Pretty slow on the updates as I am flat out trying to finish my thesis. Once that is handed in at the end of June it is all go!!
I ended up selling the Nissan wheels, I liked them but they were just too narrow.

ABF came out of the donor car in the weekend, I will give it a tidy up before it goes into the Jetta.

I also picked up a set of d90s for the car. The previous owner had used the 9" rears as hose reels haha!

Wanted a set of wintercults a lot more but they never really got out to New Zealand. Hopefully these will look ok!
        whatcha think?

Just read through your thread, it's come a long way ay. Looking forward to ABF + D90s now.

You Aussies should organise to come over to Auckland for the Spring Jamboree show this year. We can have a BBQ & after party at my place after the show and a bunch of you can crash at my place. We could organise a nice ride to and from the show for each of you I'm sure!

I just looked on Jetstar, turns out flights are temptingly cheap!

When is it? What sorta show is it?

It's in Spring sometime, usually in October I think. It's organised by the aircooled guys but there has been a 50/50 split in past years of aircooled/watercooled.

Not sure if you can view my album, but here is the 2010 show. Quite small, but a good time. The level has raised tenfold since then so the standards will be hugely higher. Just check out the SO2012 vid to see what's going on now.

I'll be down in the south island around that time. Let me know if you want to hit up some rad local fields!

Do you guys have any recommendations on places to get some 4x100 to 5x130 adaptors from?

ECS Tuning stocks H&R adaptors at a good price and they're pretty quick with shipping too

but if they don't have the widths that you want Adaptec do custom adaptors and hardware for like $370 Aus$$ landed. Really nice product to.
