Has there been a better time to buy a MK2?

I just picked myself up an immaculate mk2 gti. Previously owned by Stefan in tassie, swapped for a car from here in Sa. Then I made the new owner a decent offer for it. Silver 8v 145,000kms, 276* cam, 2 1/4 straight through exhaust etc.
So happy! Paid a pretty penny for it, but wanted one that didn't require any restoration.

Yeah, this happened with MK1's about this time last year if I recall. Hell, in time I think I may have to consider buying a MK2 and moving the valver across into it.

No, no haha (well certainly nothing major problem wise)
Just seems unfair that I got to poke around yours, but you never got a chance to drive mine.
I love my car, but it seems unfair for it to be only drivin/enjoyed by one person.

LOL there's no such thing. Even valgamesh has a few things to tidy up and I'd hate to think how much he paid for his.

Mine was dirt cheap so I know it needs things fixed but that's half the fun of owning an old Golf.

Its all good mate, i've driven my fair share of MK2's & Adam told me all about the wheel spin antics your car can get up to

You enjoying MK2 ownership? It gets under your skin & no matter what other cars you own, I had a flirt with a few french cars and a Ford but just couldn't get way from a MK2 Golf!
