Thanks guys, i had seen the Euro Spec conversion hubs, Bahn Brenner do them and ECS do several conversion kits too.
I'm only after the 5x100 for my new wheels, not too bothered by brakes at this stage. I was just thinking it may work out cheaper than getting converted hubs as the postage costs are shocking !!
I've also seen people just use VR hubs and outer CV's, then redrill the 4x100 brake discs, thats another option........
not much to write home about.. rebuilt driveshafts, finally found some vr6 ones. sorted out a gearbox and i've got a package coming soon from GAP. i'll take a couple of photos when i finish the minor painting.
not much news on motor. should be back in a few weeks though. cant wait. also coilovers too. hehehe. i love wasting money.
the car's now symmetrically painted...? hahaha wait that's a lie. the rust through the roof isn't symmetric..
so all my GAP stuff arrived. and for some reason i got a whole bunch of vr6 gasket shizzle. dont ask why, unless you wanna pm me and buy em.
but otherwise, the clutch is nice and meaty, the discs are shiny, the pressure plate is....pressure platey.. ? i cant wait to get my motor back!!! arrghh.
You should bore the block to 82.5.... I know a guy with a good set of 82.5 pistons you could get at a price...
i dont need em just yet, and they'll also be too high compression if i ever build a 16v again. ... not that i'm actually doing any motor work myself cause i'm a n00b.
i'll add some pics later this week when i dont have 80 000 assignments/tests in the next 48 hours.
Whats the latest on the engine build up jay jay? I built a 1.9l 8v with the works years back, it was originally in preenys mk1 with everything done to it on twin 40mm down draft webbers instead of injection. It was fast for its day aswell, knocking off a VS clubsport by a nose out at the local drag strip. What ever power you eventually make it will be great fun to drive for sure! best of luck with it

haha. cheers marty. i have a feeling i wont keep up with VE clubbies... that said, it should go. the heads pretty much finished. and moneys just got sent away for some head bits. cam, springs. bolts. beau - the crazy american guy who's down at matt's once in a while is pretty much doing it. cause i no nothing about anything. but i'm learning.
i have no idea how this thing is going to run on k-jet. bigger injectors are needed.
i'm not sure if my motor has the "works"? the cam we're getting is a 288. sorry about the speculation of >300. at least it will sort of idle now..?
Parts are on way from America.
2.2L Volvo injectors will probably be the GO.
Beau will be back here for good in January, motor should be in and roaring before then tho.
