  • Get some later 1/4 vent free front doors while you have it all apart. They look heaps better I reckon.

    As for the colour, what trim pieces are you running? as in flares etc.
    76 MkI 3 door - daily drive/project - 1.8 5speed

    • i've taken off the rub strips and i think, i think i'm going to run with the arches and no side skirts.

      i'm looking for chrome mk1 mirrors atm actually. i think they're the same bolt spacing for the door.

      also, anyone know where i can get a water trap for an air compressor from?

          • Good to see your lazy ass doing some real work.

            Dont leave it silver, hard to paint and as a colour it sucks.

            How about Primer Grey, but shiny??

                there is an Audi colour VERY similar to primer grey called "cloud grey" awesome colour!

                    Aviator grey from Audi is also a nice grey!


                    And then there's moonstone white? I think from New Beetles... more of a cream colour.


                    If you do go for those, go for a nice, proper clearcoat. Satin/matte finishes for them look like **** IMO:

                      • Ray there actually is an Audi Colour that is "cloud grey" and its darker than nimbus!!
