Managed to get one speaker out, will just brake the old one up if I can't unscrew it.
Any recommendations on some decent 4" speakers? Budget $80 tops probably.
Jaycar response man, the yellow kevlar ones. They are great and are cheap because they dont have a fancy brand. Ive got a set of 6.5" and they are great espcialy for the price i got them for. Have a look if they have anything in 4".
I ended up with some $55 jvc ones, I had that cash on me, so didn't feel like delving into my savings.
So far having slight depth issues on the left side, but I'm able to squeeze the cover over it still.
I've slashed a bit of the dash away on the edges of the speaker hole, as well as some of the insulation underneith the speaker. Still a bit to go though.
I make these with shackey from the edition 38 forum
I've got this set up for sale for £160 including the JL Audio speakers (£210) in the uk which is a bargain, the pods we usually sell for £160 on there own, same style as the audioscape units for £100 less,
Have no idea what postage would be but can guarantee it would still work out cheaper than buying the pods on their own, I'm selling because I'm going bigger (size matters) and am installed 5.1 surround sound,
Don't know where I'm going but I do know where I've been
i work for jaycar and yes the kevlar response range is awsome!! ive got a mazda 323 and old school one with the full set up, sounds insane, but now i am deciding what to go with on the mkII i have, im thinking, i will go for the more expensive response splits 6.5" inch with the ribbon tweeters, where as the others are a silk dome tweeter, the ribbons arent as harsh on the ears, and on the parcel shelf i will just go 6.5" with the built in tweeter.
