Yeah I remember seeing GTIs with these first BBS on in the 80s.

These are genuine MAHLE BBS rims and are 13 x 6. I have 205/45/13s at the moment. Hard to get, wide and sticky

it's for tapes [for a tape deck]. I've got it in my mk 2. I think it was a dealer fitted item.

Yup, thats correct Jarred, they are pop out casette holders for tapes.
It is a dealer option and makes me smile everytime I see them.

Thanks for the extra lowering 16vkid. Looks OK, but not the car to do it to. Worth more money in standard trim IMO.

It actually has slightly lowered springs in it already. Any more would be overkill.
