So here's the latest.

After getting literally everything I need to start the car and putting it all together, I decided to tear it all out again. I've decided the next big step for the car will be the paint. So get prepared, it's all coming out again.

And now for some new bits
One of my old tie rods had a crimped ball joint with no way of getting the boot off. But I made a way with a grinder
Btw, does anyone know what this 3rd fuel pipe is for? I know the upper 2 are the fuel delivery and the return, is this other one a breather? Is it ok if I block it or what's the go?

How extensive are you cleaning up the bay? Heaps of shaving and deleting unnecessary crap to be had haha

The bay will be fairly close to stock. I'm only removing the factory air box mount, the old wiring tabs and blocking the old wiring holes on the firewall. Battery is staying as is the raintray. I like the clean look but am very much a function over from kind of guy. Ideally I'd get rid of the window washer bottle and expansion tank, but I need both and they don't look too bad in my opinion

Washer bottle can e moved the the boot, or even inside the fender via a different slim bottle and pump. The hose can just be shortened out of sight, while still actually being there, if that makes sense?

My parents said there is no way in hell I'm painting it in their garage so we moved it to my girlfriend's townhouse to spray it.

Hopefully the garage job turns out alright. I'm hoping to be done by the weekend but we'll see how it all goes.

Ah, the benefits of being old and not having to listen to parents anymore.

Downside is whenever I go to the Disco wearing my happy pants and gold chains everyone asks who the old man is.

It's worse than I thought. So much for quick respray at this stage.
Probably because of how long I've spent in the engine bay...


Sooooo keen to get to the point where I can lay down some paint.

What did you use to get the bay to look like that? Paint stripper and then just wire brush?
