I hope none of you ever gets into this predicament

I love MK1's, probably more than I love my MK2 and my wife says I like my car more than my kids - not true, just some of my kids.

Someone offered me this today.






It's a swallowtail, complete including the Ronals and the only rust is a section under the raintray above the driver's side rear window.

I know it's too good to pass up but I'm broke at the moment so how do I tell my wife we have to sell one of the kids?

I feel for you Paul...its so hard sometimes!
Even harder when it is a 2dr swallowtail, in a pretty awesome colour, hardly any rust and super straight bumpers!

You're not kidding. These are just some of the 4 doors that aren't worth saving.





I saw at least 4 x MK1 2 doors that were in good condition. The crimson one was the only swallowtail but there was another one that used to be a swallowtail but had a standard rear end welded on years ago. It's in better condition than the crimson one and there were a few swallowtail 4 doors that I could cut up.

Heaps of straight metal bumpers too.

Nice stash.. sadly sights like that are few and far between, and in the UK, they would be well beyond saving if they had spent the last 20 years in the woods!

Hope someone gets to save it.
