8v is out. Going to make a mount today and test fit. Might be going for a tough durability wrinkle black for the engine bay, stealth and not easily chipped I hope.
Any ideas on any other paints that are very durable?
So today was very productive. Popped apart the 8v g'box and mated it to the 20v. Took off the timing and started making an engine mount. My buddy Hakan came past and helped me with the mount, measured it all up and starting cutting the 6mm plate while I worked on mounting the inter cooler.
Got the motor in position, and marked the mount all up. I gave the two bits to my mate and he welded the life out of it. Don't have a pic yet.
The motor sits in nicely! Next is to replace all the seals, belts, pump etc and paint the bay. Then insert the motor hopefully be next week after I come home from camping, and start all the plumbing.
Hahaha Paul, normally I would take it easy but I'm really pushing hard so I can enjoy it before summer ends.
Pulled the motor out completely today, loom is also gone. Battery tray gone. Will be welding up the mounts just for extra strength hopefully tomorrow.
Today's progress, inter cooler as far left possible and the rad as far left. A lot of mucking around to get them to sit nicely, but it's done.
Welded nuts to the rad support as new mounts. Also cut out the rest of the metal at the front apron to enlarge the holes for air flow. I'm really liking the cooler hahahaha
Mount fully fabbed up and welded.
That's it for today, I'm dead and I've got work in the morning! Enjoy
