So here is a lil update. While picking the car up next week we are also getting MK4 GTi($200) front and rear seats to go with the Golf.

Just waiting on confirmation on whether the guy who sells the seats can meet me somewhere coz we and melbourne is the worst mix.

    8 days & 7 nights, WHOOP WHOOP!!!

      Hey guys and girls,

Was so excited about being able to go and pick up the Golf this weekend that I have hardly slept, BUT, unfortunately won't be getting it till the new year.

There is some unforseen family things that came up hence the pick up date is going to be later. Not sure what the date is going to be as of yet but will keep posted.

Then on another note, I was in tuggeranong going through the Macas drive thru for a soft serve cone and there was a MK4 in matte orange and black wheels that pulled out of the car park when I pulled in. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHO THIS DUDE IS and IS HE ON THE FORUM??

Hopefully the pickup will go well whenever it may be.

That guys name is Mitch. He bought a rear bumper for the mk4 off me about 2 weeks ago. He has just wrapped it in matte orange. I told him to join up to the forums but he hasn't yet that I am aware of.

          Hey guys,

Since we are going to have to wait to pick the Golf up I was hoping you guys could help me out. I am thinking of using the 9A I have in my other Golf and rebuild it. Was thinking new pistons and bump the compression to 11:1 with H-Beam billet rods and ofcourse, 45 DCOE's!!!

but the rods I can get is ABF high block rods. Would that be possible to use or not?

              Good morning guys and girls,

A bit of an update about the Golf buying. I had some family health issues I had to sort out and $$ was spent like its going out of fashion. All is good and well now, and Unfortunately I am not buying the Golf in Melbourne but I am getting a Golf from Sydney.

I am picking it up saterday week. Very excited coz I found a complete gasket set for the 9A through a mate that works at Repco who did a hell of a job. So the 9a will be rebuilt to throw into this Golf. Hey guys,

I will probably go around to my mates tomorrow and have a little bit of a fiddle to see whats happened while the missus is at work, and I'll try to fire it up and also get some photos and upload them then.

Sportsracer you gave away the surprise.

                            Hi there,

I was hoping someone could tell me how I can post an add in the classifieds. Have a mate who wants to sell a Golf R for about $40 000 and he tells me that its got all the bells and whistles but the only thing he doesn't have is a sunroof.

So we finally picked up a car we can work on. And I have some fairly good plans for the car, but now just need to sort a few things out on the car. I have to try and get it started and possibly just drive around the block to see what it does and see where we stand at mechanically.

Interior wise I would like to do the following:

                              electric windows all around
                              new doorcards
try and smooth the carpet out coz it does look a little rough

exterior I would like to do the following:

i want to change to mk3 door handles
replace the plastic bumpers with chrome ones
give the car a wash wash and polish and all that fancy mancy stuff
get the wheels off and get them resprayed because they have cracks in the paint all over
would like to fiddle with the engine and make sure it runs really smooth and then get an exhaust which has a nice tone

and then last but not least, would like to see if it will pass rego

                                Very nice...
                                Personally I prefer the 4 door Mk1's, but as a Cabby owner, I don't get a choice...
Glad to see another Mk1 heading to Canberra...

The all chrome small bumpers would look really great on that car...
As for the wheels, are you going to change the colour, or just repaint them?

Hope all goes well for you on the rego front too...
I do believe that the engine in that car has been changed for a different model. Here's hoping that it doesn't cause too much grief...
