I was actually very sceptical (and still am) but need to run at least a 14" wheel to clear the new brakes (which I still need to put on the car...)

    • quick question - looking at changing over my clutch, obviously need to obtain one first.

car has a 1.8 RV (mk2 gti engine) but with the stock 4 speed box from the original 1.6...

      ...what size clutch am i after? 180mm? 200mm? 210mm?

      :/ so lost right now

                • so i'm 110% stoked to say this happened over the past couple of days...

thats right, a recovered, perfectly uncracked dash as well as guages (porsche, of course) - yet to be connected but i feel like i'm in a racecar (perfect)

porsche wheels are up for sale and i've got my eye on a couple of wheels but with christmas tomorrow (today) everythings a bit up in the air.

anyway, a cheeky last shot because why not

exhaust has been finalised (kinda) one porsche seat is in (kinda) lots of loose ends as usual but slowly getting there.

fitted a brand new 4x6 speaker in the dash which is surprisingly awesome, had to buy the pair for ~$75 so if anyone wants the other one for ~$35 its theirs - sounds really really good (compared to my old 4" i had in the dash!) super happy with it, also have some other bits and pieces (dash goodies) just PM me

oh and a full, good condition stock exhaust

                    • Looking good but aren't you worried that with all the "cheap" Porsche bits in the car you're devaluing it?

We know VW is better and MK1 is best.

hardly. the handles, guages and seats only add to the car. the wheels on the other hand i do love but its time to let them go

                        • The blue beast has been written off (I was rear ended, pushed into oncoming traffic and hit from the front) but have picked up a 2 door swallowtail shell, all the running gear (engine, box, exhaust, coilovers etc) as well as interior are still sweet so will be fixing up the swallowtail and dropping everything in.

                          Watch this space.

                          Remain optimistic.

                            • Cheers dude, it really sucks bad but the best thing to come of it is I finally have an excuse to rip out the engine, properly rebuild it (cam just arrived) properly respray the thing and best of all its a swallowtail so can't complain.

But now I don't have a car. Literally had been on the road for one month and 3 days.
