Yeah, the car got sponsored by Turbosmart so I used all their hosing and couplings. I didn't really like the idea of stainless or painted pipes and wanted something different to everyone else too

I advertised the whole brake setup ages ago but no bites - I now need it for a couple of weeks more anyway. I'll keep you in mind.

A whole day worth of wiring went into the car again today, fiddling with things like boost control and the kill switch. Also changed the 12v flyback from the ECU to switched form on the fuse box, rather than off the +ve on the battery, just for extra reliability.

The big tail lights still need wiring up. I've also changed the swaybar setup from the blue car so these are to go on aswell.

I don't have camera until the end of the week - loaned one out and the other is now getting serviced ready for more uni projects, so pics by the weekend!!!

I'm stoked with how things are going, though. I might even be happy enough to leave this car alone for at least a year (...maybe)

Update: engine is in parts again Found the BBM intake to be twisted (not happy), so it was drawing in air; myself, a mechanical and electrical engineer, a Motec tech and two mechanics also managed to miss 3 big vaccuum ports on the underside of the manifold - how embarrassing!!! This explained why there was little, to no, vaccuum at the throttle body and car revved like a mongrel at idle. It also (almost) ran with the tb blocked off, which baffled all of us until we discovered the above problems!! lol!

The manifold is spending the weekend being re-surfaced I also had to cut and re-weld the BBM downpipe as the screamer pipe didn't line up; the fuel rail was also out of plum, pitching the injectors at an angle, causing a minor leak but also a crooked spray pattern into the combustion chambers. All in all, BBM stuff is very much form over function. I also had to exchange the fuel rail washers as they leaked aswell (even with the FPR backed right off). Every company makes boo boos, but every BBM part I've had has not functioned well since starting the car I'll be ringing them soon to offer an ear-full!

At the end of the day, though, after I correct their errors, the bits will look and perform well, so I'm over it.

The other problem was poor pin contact at the ECU. I'd also missed a ground right near the VEMS, which was dropping the crank sensor voltage too low and cutting spark. We spent a late night on Thursday finding this one out too! There were plenty of inputs coming in, but no output signals, and this was all down to the pins and plugs at the ECU. I've ordered a new set of plugs, pins and seals and will re-do the plugs on Monday night.

Next step is fine-tuning the maps and some dyno time.

Last step is to detail the crap out of the poor car as it's filthy, dusty and covered in greasy fingerprints

              Stu

Haha - yes blood pressure has been soaring at certain points! It's all good, though, nothing like this ever runs like a dream from the first turn of the key - I was stoked enough that it even started first time round given it's all uncharted waters. Very happy with the VEMS ECU, though - far and away a better unit than my old Wolf V4. It's so easy and logical to use, despite being made in Europe.

Vids for sure - as soon as it's all sorted out. I have a camera mount for the rollcage, so will do some on-board shots awell

Still LOTS of finishing touches to be done, though

                        • Running happily - plenty of things to address/tidy-up/clean etc, though!

I have a lot of carbon parts to go on the car - plus obviously the doors etc - so I probably won't update the thread until I get this stuff on.

Also have to respray the tail gate as I baked a tiny bug into the paint Interior etc is still to do, but it's pretty minimalist, so this won't take too long...
