The way i see it, you should do what you want, but when you post in a forum, you should be expecting opinions. You don't have to listen to what people say, but you can atleast respect what they say and take it in. Unless somebody is just making a comment to satisfy their ego and is in no way constructive..
Why do you need to see your FP all the time anyway? You know if you ran carbies, you'd only need 4 psi and then it wouldn't matter...
Gotta agree though, i don't like bonnet guages. i think they look tacky and cheap. And because you see too many crap rice cars with 25 chrome gauges on the bonnet, with enough elumination to be seen from space..
I'm running an autometer monster 10k rpm with a shift light in my car, but it will be mounted off the dash low-ish so no one will see it from outside, but it's only going in there because i'm using it for competition and i'll be using all bar 1500 rpm on it.
But hey, do what makes you feel good..

well the reason why im doing the bonnet gauges (two of them) is because i am running a new engine and im very paranoid of something going wrong with it, when i get my licence back (may 16th) i only have 6 days of driving before i do a 9 our drive to sydney with the new rebuilt engine,
as for PIS my PSI reading goes up to 120PSI not 4psi, i have kjet fuel injection not efi or carbyn:
as for the water temprature gauge, my oem one does not have numerals only white to red lines, and for this i am worried about calibration and how accurate the reading is for the new 2.0lt 16v, therefore hooking up a new water temp gauge is nessesary
as for the gauges themselves, they are not chrome caps with chrome or silver faces, or any hoon looking thing, they will be black faces black or body color cups, they are not for wank value, i am putting them there for a reason,
now as for placing them on the bonnet:
where elce am i gonna put them WITHOUT damaging ANYTHING inside the car??
i dont want to drill holes in the dash nor do i have any blank plates to fit them anywhere, and like i said i cannot have fuel lines running inside the cabin
and now for the main reason, how are people spposed to see anything new or diffrent if no one try's anything, like i always say, im not fussed or get damaged by what people comment, because i know, everyone has brains, and everyone has eyes, im sure everyone who doesnt like the idea of bonnet gauges can train themselves to look awayim not building this car so other people can be satisfied, im using my hard earned weekly dollars to build this thing for me

fair enough. Every man has his reasons, and you do especially for the gauges, which will head some people minds here I'm sure.
Gauges or no gauges, I just can't wait to see this baby rolling!!

if you want gauges why not fit them to the centre console like a std mk1 gti?
you can get a panel that will allow you to fit 3 gauges (thats what i had)
each to there own anyway.....
the door looks good, audi door handles are great, one of the best mods you can have done.Velly
