Sweet, that's what I was planning! Any brands that anyone knows of to avoid/go for?

Been ordering loads of goodies lately

Got this in the mail yesterday, should be a good point of reference:

Trialled some spacers today - going to go with 10mm all round and a bit more low added

    Without 10mm:

    With 10mm:

Spacers will only be temporary though - while I sort out some new wheels. I think they will be 14x8 +20s after todays measuring!

Loads of gear on the way from local places and OS, including a complete new brake set up, seat frame, strut tops, front spoiler, new interior w/ new gauges and a whole heap more! just waiting for it all to arrive so I can start driving this thing the way it should be driven!

So this weekend I wasn't going to touch the golf - I had to service the daily and put new front suspension in it so I wasn't too keen on tinkering with the golf.

    BUT..

I went and picked up this yesterday:

And I had to measure some stuff up to see how I was going to fit it in - which soon lead to this:

Cleaned up the electrics as well - removed this much useless wiring; most of it was for a sound system which doesn't (and most likely won't) exist.

Also mounted the fusebox in the correct location, it was a pain trying to remember where all the wires went no matter which ordering system I used - I think I did alright because everything works still (fingers crossed):

EDCIT: as a point of reference for what this once looked like:

I also tidied up some of the lines and wiring in the engine bay, and whacked a new fuel filter in:

This is an all too common occurance - the electrical gremlins still exist somewhere in this car. Need to sort out a kill-switch:

And the interior all cleaned up and put back together:

I need to sort out a new carpet, I don't like the brown at all. Might just try dye it and see how that goes!

oh no way, small world! yeah that's a mate from work who's pretty much a mechanics wizard, he came to give me a hand today so that i wasn't spending all day on the car haha. i know what you mean about the taking forever thing, i've had this for the best part of a year and i just keep running out of $$$!

Replaced steering rack boots and CV outer boots today, had to find the bloody weird multihead torx bit for the cvs on a sunday - streets auto & parts arana hills had it though ! gave it an oil & filter change and some new plugs, was gonna do some work on the electrics but i'll leave that for another weekend haha. was getting too dang hot in the garage so i took it down to the carwash and gave it a well earned scrub to cool off:

annddd under the car cover it goes for another week

stretched some new tyres on today, and lowered it a bit more. gonna give it a service tomorrow, and tackle any electrical gremlins which have come back. then brakes next week, and cooling system and a new cam the following week hopefully! gonna give the carby a tune and bump up the timing a tad to give it a bit more go camber plates are also in the picture for the next month as well. EDIT: oh and a small front lip!!! to complete the exterior.

gonna go lower once i knock up a bashplate, interested to see what people have done to protect the sump?
