So there I was on a picnic minding my own business when my VW-Spidey senses tingled. Then I spotted this beauty:

Good stuff mate, cool to see it has progressed a bit too. Can't wait to see it out and about.Mk3.Mk4.Mk1

Hahaha Awesome..Looks like I was home too! Should have come over for a look.
George, I did the hatch/tire well area the same colour also. Anything else that isn't already blue/white will be covered with trims etc..
Jarred, I think the shine comes through from the metallic base coat. The clear is dulled to 30% of a complete gloss. When there is no light source you can really see it but then the sun hits it and changes the look completely. It's the first time I tried this combination. I might nickname the paint 'deceptive blue' hahaha
Started to put back together a few little pieces. Nothing exciting but I like photos

Tail light loom and lights back in.

New carpet was on my to do list. I got a few leads from the thread on here about suppliers. Before I clicked the buy button I decided to take a look at my old carpet more closely. It was a little dirty and a horrible colour but at the same time the overall condition was pretty good.
I decided to stick to DIY methods..Cleaned it nice and good then hit it with some dye. The process was simple, Cost me $26 and the results speak for themselves.
Old before shot of ugly carpet:

The carpet how it lays now...I'm pretty stoked and saved a couple hundred dollars. Even a passer by commented on my "new carpet"

Not too shabby if i say so myself.
How did you go abouts with the dye. Is there any chance of it actually turning back to the old colour or is it PERMINENT? Id love to do this, but if colour changes back within a few months, it'll be wasted time taking it all off agian hehe- Orange Golf mk1 LS, 1.8 5speed, 32/36 - sold
