Well the time has come for a bit of a performance increase for the rally golf, going to start slowly leaking info and pics as i build up the parts to give her a shed load more power, for now this will do to keep you interested.
The old girl as she was

a must have after doing 20 laps of the famous green hell earlier this year

The old power plant, 1.8 8V goodness worked almost as hard as it could over a 10 year life!, cracked it open last weekend and everything was still as new inside and you could easily see the hone swirls still on the cylinders, just had to replace a slightly burnt valve (have a worked heron head to go on to keep as a spare motor)

Some better brakes than the current VR6 units

just a little bit more stopping power to come

Everything has to be extremely lightweight as it needs to spin quickly to a computer controlled 9000rpm rev cut. we are talking only a couple hundred grams under the standard but every gram removed counts.

Have almost finished building and modifying these to ensure the most fuel possible is converted to power, this took ages to build and was surprisingly cost effective to make. Those that know will recognise certain clues to the engine that they will be bolted too

next update..........................the wildest and most extreme machining work on a cylinder head you will see. there is no more room for valves!!!!!
