thanks guys, yeah all the rust in the car has now been converted and welded where needed, its fairly straight - so il just seal these bits with some primer/yellow when the welding is tidy - off course i'd love to do a closed door in the same colour down the track but don't have enough $$$!
just bought the wheels of the the forum, came with 4 tyres as well which i can use, so pretty good.
i know it looks like there hasn't been much movement in this build as of late, but i have just been lazy taking photos.
on the weekend...
- the motor was dropped from the other car
- the brakes and handbrake cables were adjusted and bled up
- new gear shift bush kit installed
once the motor out, it was a matter of deciding what to do, either keep it as in, or spend some money on it - soo....it was decided that i will be running twin webbers and i have also put a deposit on an upgraded head .... more info to come
another thing which was a bit of a bonus i suppose was the previous owner had installed a kit in the diff which limits wheel spin at low revs/when accelerating. i believe it is similar to a lsd but only applies at low revs ...
one other thing, dashboard should be returning from the dash recovery service dude this week, he said it's looking real nice, so looking forward to seeing it.
picked up my head today...a very good end to the weekend - some info:
twin webbers, highlift cam, adjustable cam gear, larger valve/springs: will have photos posted up by tomorrow
have been so lazy with photos, will get on it
sounds like a nice set up... I <3 the sound of Weber's!
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it
