you dont need some fancy bit engine or some crazy mods to achieve that

you just have to realise that the car is 20years old and needs some TLC. Rebuild everything and put an EFI or Kjet motor in and you'll be laughing. even a carb motor doesn't need 30mins to warm up, it's not a beetle after all!

oh and theoratically, anythings' possible!

1.8T has been done to death, but for a good reason - it's fast and it works

Anything else is going to be a very intersting exercise in creativity.

In all reality, it hasn't been done to death in OZ.....

The only thing that's been done to death is a 1.6L/1.8L with a TS Passat manifold, Weber 32/36 (or whatever they are) & hottuning coilovers. Alot of hottuning coilovers


There are bugger all 16V & 20VT conversions out there & there are many many more unfinished project's sitting around incl. my own 20vt project.

But I went & spent the money on something alot better anyway!

Yeah, I am becoming persuaded to do a 20VT conversion, but AWD is still crying in the back of my head... how do I silence the voices....!

Aaron, go and have a word with Peter. He's building up his MK1 Scirocco with 4WD. And you can bet that anyone who has a 6 speed Caddy with 20v and K04 is planning similar hp in their Scirocco.
