aussie assembled cars got a mixed bunch when it came to swallowtail parts. alot of the rear panels were early 76'er but the bonnets and some other features (heature controls, interior fittings etc) lasted all through the aussie cars' production, iirc.
Things done since Monday - new RHR shock, new muffler, new exhaust hangers, clutch pedal rubber, 1 vacuum pipe, few other things.. Had the use of a hoist and the help from Andrew (gtimk5) which I'm very appreciative of!!!! Thanks Andrew!
Bits fitted from donor car - windscreen washer assembly, door handles (were driving me nuts), drivers side seat bealt, seat rail guide. Few other bits.
Things to do by Monday - Repair rust on floor pan both sides, replace LH ball joint (will get out of donor car.. hopefully same size and in good order), adjust height of exhaust (is too high atm and bangs on stuff), degrease everything and tidy it up.
Good luck!
If you've done everything they've asked i can't see how it couldn't.
Nah well the car hasn't been in yet... I got stamped with a "full roadworthy inspection" defect notice by the cop, so I just have to pick everything out (with the help of a mechanic) that needs doing, and fix it before the due date! They only gave me 2 weeks to do all this.... Normally it's 28 days...
you'll be right man, you get two shots at it per payment anyway! so just do your best, if you don't pass, take on board what they have to say and get it done and come back the next day!

i find it easier to tidy car, replace obvious bits, then take it in.
They will tell what needs doing and your not wasting time or money on stuff that didnt actually fixing .
That what i did to mates rolla, took it straight in after a wash and vacuum, and it failed on 3 minor things , fixed in arvo and took back.
Good luck on it though, keep them running as long as possible ha!

Yeah pretty sure we haven't missed anything... they'd have to be VERY picky if it didn't pass, especially when I'm finished doing the rest of the things over the weekend! Thanks, yeah really want to just keep it on the road til at least the end of the year.
Repaired the floor pans today...... took up most of the day. also installed new windscreen washer kit as the old one from the donor car packed it in... adjusted exhaust mounting position.. repaired front and back seats... the lhf ball joint is no good in the donor car so going to have to risk taking it in as is... degrease engine in the morning..... and then it goes in.
