Nice. Love KE70s, especially ones done up like that! Good work with the car mate, everything thing you do is getting you one step closer to the final product.

rubbed back the silver paint with a 800 W/D ... then used a plastic primer.. then 3 or 4 coats of plastic auto paint... matt black primer cost 16 bucks.. paint cost 16 bucks.. 2.50 for sand paper.. i used same method to re paint mirror and bumper caps.. and eventually black plastic interior. Everything from autobarn

                  Thanks stephy!

If you have a look at the full right side profile, you can see there is black stuff under the rear wheel arche... that is LITERALLY tar!! one of the previous owners obviously tried to fix up a rusted area, and failed.. hahaha i broke 3 drill bits drilling the hole for the last screw... GRRR. going to have to grind that off before we paint!

So you put crosshair headlights on it and then you buy retreads? Doesn't make much sense to me dude..

                        Hey Josh,

I am about to start embarking on the same journey as you mate, and am wondering where did you source your GTI flares from?

                        Cheers,
                        Aaron.

Preen - I only need retreads as a go between from worshop and home and when i get resprayin.. As soon as its registered i'm putting completely new wheels/coilovers.. didn't make sence to spend 400 on things i could possibly only drive on once.....

Aaron - Get active and just start looking through the Mk1 forum for people who seem to have lots of mk1's and just start sending PMs. eventually you will find them, or i've found they often come to you once you've made it public!

Okay, thought that might be the case.
