Jace is taking the piss, George..

    I agree with him, though.

Seat looks great, been waiting for you to put pics up when you got em
I think Georgey needs to REPLACE his engine mount and loose the race seats as they are bigger than the whole car and way to jap
I also think he has way to many honda/jap mates that influence the way he is doing his car, its not out side of the box seeing as its prity USDM. Ill be straight up and say it would all look better on a mk3.
I aaaalso think that he is a young bloke with his first car and not a lot of money so he is experimenting and learning with what he can afford. Don't let negativity or ummm...not so positive criticism (?) put you down, take it on board but don't be discouraged.

On a side note are you going to come and pick up the other 2 tires or are you gunna be a big fat mk5 driving granny and puss out

      • Even though the interior isn't my thing it's good to see you are doing what you want, not what everyone expects.

Your just jealous that us MkV owners have a daily that can actually be used daily.

        • Meh, i guess the criticism is a good thing, as its an external view on things. I guess, im not going to deny the fact that the seats are too jap, but i've loved brides from the start, and have always wanted them. The oppurtunity came up to get it veeeeery cheap from a friend, so i took it. I can understand the negative comments as most people are used to seeing, mk1s with retro interior, rs's, and just being squeeky clean, but i like to experiment. I have never kept the same style on my car for more than i few months, im constantly changing.

At the end of the day, im learning from it, and in my eyes thats the most important thing hehe

I'll have a few more updates soon, as i have new progress coming along.
Oh and dado, i'll have to speak to you mate, been extremely busy with exams and what not, however the tyres dont hold air

Sounds bout right, if its a 4 speed.
best i ever got was 590 kays to one tank, 1.8L 4 speed standard carb, extractors and 2" system, 15x7 rims. 2 people, tools and few spare parts in boot.

stretch is the norm these days, there is actually tyre company's making tyres with a more rounder edge to give the illusion of more stretch.

Though ive had a shop or two hesitant to fit a 175 to a 7" rim, which is **** all stretch.

Post a pic up of the Cracked mount mate, curious to see where it broke

                    • I think Mik needs to step in on this one as personal insults on this forum are NOT COOL. I can see both sides of the story, for the show guys a fat rim with stretch is very cool and an appealing look. I don't personally think tyres with this much additional load on the side walls is a good thing for the road. If you ever had a prang and someone got hurt the cops would love to find anything they can to get charges to stick and I'm sure they would definately implicate stretched tyres. Not 100% on the ADR rules on this kind of thing but from a motorsport background I've seen and had 1 tyre give out rather badly on the sidewall from little load just a stone in the wrong place at the wrong time and it leads typically to a decent accident. Would hate to see that happen to any of the guys or cars here. Have the fat rims and tyres by all means but I would 100% check with the dept of transport in your state and ADR regs before taking them on the road.

                            • Mm, if people don't like what theyre seeing, they don't have to look and voice there disgusts. I love what you're doing with the thing. **** the haters Run some wider wheels with lots more stretch, and put as much jdm rubbish you like on it just to annoy them even further Even though some things aren't my style, I think it's been done relatively tastefully I figure while you're our age on the p-plates and all, may as well have your car exactly the way you like it, while its still considered cool and before everyone grows up, buys stock mk5's or corollas or something and judges you for immature slammed noisy hoon car.

                              Anyway. As said
