Im looking for an 1800, probably out of an MK3 so i can get a bit more power and a 5 speed box as the 4 speed is getting on my nerves. thanks anyway for the offer mate.

Dom, im planning on doing it similar to that, with a nice black stripe across the sides. Although instead of the crome euro bars, i want to paint them black!

wouldnt mind it being a bit different. im actually going to a bloke tmoro in Thomastown to see if he can help me out with some new bars, an engine perhaps and hopefully he has some other goodies lying around hahaha.

AS FOR THE DIRT AROUND THE CAR. my golf has been finished for a week or so, this is just a sort of history to it and the paint came up fine. i was just about to post them.

There's 2 mk3's on center road wreckers with the engine your looking for and a 5 speed box.

PM me if you need more info/help.

This is what im to date with at the moment. great respray and it came out pretty good with no drips or anything like that.

im pretty gratefull to what the guy did as he knocked it back out. Every panel beater or profesional i asked, they all said to me that i should get that same back panal cut out from another golf and welded in. They were all too lazy to spend a bit of time and knock it and pull it out properly.

the way my friends dad saved me from cutting up my other mk1 shell and this way i still have them both with good body's.

this is it at the moment.

Looks like it has come out really well, marked improvement over that ghastly body kit!
All it needs now is a better exhaust tip, new bumpers, black mirrors and most of all some decent wheels!
          Keep it up mate

            Looks great George, congrats.

The body kit wasn't that bad apart from the front bar, it actually looks like it was a genuine clipper kit(with a different front bar).
But I do think it looks better without the whole thing.

Well when you look at the kit, it has been taken off a convertible. But what they have done is cut it at the bottom and replace and fiber glass it to something else. thats why its different.

Oh and 16V_kid PM sent gee.

looks heaps better man, well done so far!

I'd be getting some black flag mirrors pronto though, and a small front lip, and maybe even GTI wheel arch flares. but it's all upto taste.

                      keep it up./

actually reminds me of my old 2 door,. I shaved everything on that too.

Just breezed through your thread mate. It looks REALLY good. I love what you've done. Good to see a young guy doing things right.

Maybe some older style wheels? I'm thinking Zender Turbo's?

Yeah id love some new rims, although i was thinking off those famous BBS rims or something like that with a nice offset to it.

i dont have the cash hahaha. after im done with the engine im gonna start looking at rims. im too lazy to get a job but if i want to finish my project before i get my Ps. guess ill have to get one

Wow.. Doing things right AND a concept of money and foresight.. Are you REALLY 16? Haha.

Yeah i've got 15x7 ET25 BBS mesh wheels off an E30 BMW 318i on my golf.. You need to fold the guard lips to stop them scrubbing.. But you look to have low offset wheels on it currently.. Are your guard lips folded up already?

The wheels were only a suggestion mate. I have some Zender Turbos i'm fixing up at the moment that i want to put on my Mk1.. Not many around, unlike the BBS wheels...

hahaha yeah mate i really am 16.
are those rims off the beemer 4 stud or 5? i thought they were 5 stud, but to fit the golf obviously must be 4.

um as for the guard lips, only the back ones. when i took the sideskirts and wheels arches off. i found out that the wheel arches were covering the guard lips (obviously) but my point being is, the back guards have been bashed up and had dints all over them from the previous owner.

they obviously did this for clearence of bigger wheels and then used the kit to cover up the s*** job they did of it. so when i took the wheel arches from he kit off, , the guards had to be smoothened and straightened out. so even more work there.

BY THE WAY IF ANYONE WANTS TO BUY THE KIT FOR SOME REASON PM ME.

They're 4 stud. They went to 5 stud after E30.

The back is where you'll have trouble with clearance first. I put mine on a standard 2 door and the rears scrubbed. The fronts were ok.

That kit is tempting.. It's so ugly it's cool! haha.
