    Looking good.

a rebuild the 1.8. with a bit of tidying up on the head, some bigger volvo Kjet induction gear and nice exhaust & extractors, should give the old girl a bit of a pep up.

I'd hope it already does! if not, a mild cam as well.

I think the tail lights should remain, just my 5c.

nice work man! always fun putting parts back on after fresh paint. i would also keep the taillights as they are the orange breaks them up nicely. are you putting another set of stripes and hatch spoiler etc back on?

I wondered also where it ended up. I am glad it got a home that was deserving.

Was the dealer fit aircon still in it?

looking good alex! i also vote keeping the tails stock, my crystals i had leaked and foged up the lights, then the chrome on the inside rusted, blew a taillight and made black sut go everywhere, cant go wrong with orig lights and the way a GTI should be

                    x2

get everything else sorted, then muck around with the engine.

Exactly the discussion we had at Volkspower that day

hey all so i went down n had a little look at the car, it is great, putting in all the windows and seats, just waiting for the floor carpet to be done, and hopefully be picked up tomorrow .. . . cant wait
then i have the long process of fitting the coilovers and wheels, in which i have no idea what im doing hahah and then what height i should have them as well.
hopefully i will receive a few things i have ordered from overseas and the new carbon fiber bumpers coming up from Tas

more pictures to come soon, i have just missplaced my camera ??? probably somewhere in the car

coilovers and wheels are easy as.... dial one of the mk1 peeps here to give you a hand. (me, jarred, james, dom)

as for the height of the coilovers.... leave them as Dom had them, they were perfect there
