There's a rat MK1 getting around. Lots of rust, big wheels, period roof rack and low. Not sure if it's owned by the young bloke who frequents the Canberra VW Centre but he was talking about building one.

That young welsh fella is Gareth who works for Pete at CVWC.

Yep. I'm off work from 18 December to 11 January, so I should be able to squeeze something in there.

I have a couple of Mk 1s. This is my favourite and my daily drive, 1.6 kjet with 5 speed CR box FM prefix, 5.5 x 15inch ATS cups It lives in QBN but travels daily to Belconnen.

I saw an old"er" lady driving an immaculate black GTI Mk1 in Queanbeyan the other week.. I wanted to ask her to sell it to me, but she was busy driving!

If I see her again I'm so going to get her to sell it(to me!)! It looked beautiful!
