So I have been meaning to get back to you sooner, but been waylaid.
Matt, the car spent a month with Jules.
So Stu, the car is currently KR converted to Digi 2 but Matt White (loon) - it went to QLD after he sold it and I bought it back last year. It uses a standard 8V Digi 2 ECU at the moment as I was using an alternate one with a DigiFast chip in it but it would not rev over 4500 RPM.
I ordered a 16V EPROM from Techtonics, which should be here this week. They say that they want the timing to be set at -3 degrees in this from their site;
I am pretty sure this is an 8V graph, but amazingly looks similar to my 16V plot confirming Stu your observation.
I will get that fitted, the car retimed and see if we get some 'on-road' performance increases.
Still considering the headers/exhaust situation. I am thinking that the Raceland ones might just fit the bill, but am I chasing shadows if there is another underlying issue that needs resolution.
Thanks to you all for your help!Last edited by mikinoz; 19-10-2010, 09:21 PM.

Digi has advantages for sure: cold start and hot weather running, but you really need the timing in check to make it worthwhile; otherwise the power loss is pretty significant.
Let us know how the eprom goes!!

not sure if its the same thing but i had a problem back int he uk with my mk1 16v, it only reved to about 5500rpm. the problem was fuel pump relay was bust. changed that and she reved to the 7250 limiter
but this was a k-jet carVelly

So on a closed private road with my iPhone in one hand I have my review ready.
The car is now with the Techtonics Tuning 16v 7K RPM EPROM installed, timed at 10 degrees before TDC - It pulls a serious amount more than before. It still has lag down low at WOT, but once you get the revs on she is like a freight train.
As you can see it hits 7K as stated!
The whistle is the exhaust. I had a rear muffler recently installed and that created the whistle. Needless to say, that has to change and will be coming off in the near future for something more throaty. I reckon there are some free KW's
Here is a second run - but it is near on impossible to do this sort of thing on your own.
In my opinion, it was a worthwhile upgrade.
