The car always had a Mk2 wiring loom. I just changed the fusebox and engine harness to one from an Aussie Digifant car. It has a Lambda Probe and uses all the 8v sensors plugged into the 16v. Its been done a lot in the states and could be easily done to A Golf 3.
Using an Aussie ECU, until I get myself a Pommie one.
What sort of inline pump can I run? I dont want a Digifant one with the surge box. I reckon there must be a locally produced one that will work? Commodore VL? Falcon? Anyone know?
Also do I need an adjustable Fuel Pressure Reg? or just less fuel pressure?
Yeah Valver there is enough fuel for massive HP. Maybe I should just leave it and hook up a Turbo

a vl pump will fix anything lol, the fuel pressure reg will sort it out down to the pressure that the system normally runs on. thats what you want to find out, have a look in the manual. you need to find the pressure that the injectors normally see and set it around that. $1.60/L soon dont want to use more than you have too lol
cheers brenton
It shouldn't matter that you are using the high-flow k-jet pump as long as you have a fuel pressure regulator and its rated to your digifant system. It just means that you will have a lot more fuel running back to the tank down the return line. I run a bosch pump which was originally used for k-jet but is now marketed as a "hi-performance" pump. I ran it on my 16v before and after I put the turbo on.
I successfully used a VL pump many moons ago on my 16valve. All the entries about the pressure regulator are correct-also ensure a good return line system to avoid bottlenecks.

I wouldn't bother with an adjustable fuel pressure reg as you have a "fixed" ECU. If you use an adjustable one you would have to basically tune it to the ECU! It would be much easier just using the standard one and standard injectors, then the ECU will take care of the rest. The thing is the standard ones usually have a vacuum line as well to lower the pressure at idle and cruise and under decel. To try to make an adjustable one behave exactly the same under all conditions is going too be hard.
Just use a VL Turbo pump and then a Sard FPR. The Aeromotive ones from VPW are ok aswell, but they're a fair bit larger
You also need to make sure the knock control is properly configured, and run the OBD1 port to clear the many fault codes that you'll now have! The biggest problem with Digifant conversions (especially of the later kind) into Mk1s is the fact that they're very touchy about all the equipment being connected. If it's not, you'll be in limp mode all the time

Dunno about OBD hookup on a digifant Mk2 mate. i thought only the G60 had em.
I just bought an adjustable FPR on ebay, so will try that with the kjet pump setup first. I think if I set the fuel delivery rate to a level that the injectors and the ecu are happy with, all should be well.
I`m only jibbing as Beau redid the lines and pump so nicely that he will probably kill me if I want to touch them.

I fitted thye adjustable FPR, which is chrome and has a dial, so looks cool. It also has a vacuum line.
Basically tuned it to the ecu, by winding in the mixture untill petrol stopped coming out of the exhaust!
Car starts and drives great, might try and lean it out a bit more for increased speed. I need to do 500ks to run in the motor before I flogg it, so will haveto borrow a trade plate as the rego has just run out. Grr.
Gonna put it all back together neatly and get it a pink slip.
May even put it on club rego this year

Careful you don't wash the bores running it too rich before the rings bed in. But i'm sure you knew that.
