            • Still have issues with the farkin kjet.

Myself and Beau have had much debate about it and the fact that if we were in the UK or the USA we would park it next to a working car and swop stuff till we can make it go.

However as we are in Oz and having recently ended up with a custom fuel rail from Pedros car, thanks man, the decision to digifant has been made.
To hell with originality, I`ll settle for working.

Swopped the fusebox and engine loom for one out of a Mk2, the Mk1 already had Mk2 wiring, but from a kjet Mk2. Custom fuel rail, digifant sensors and a few Mk3 parts.

First noises today and the first time I have managed to rev the car past 7k!

Its a brand new engine so am gonna have to run it in now, but at least it works.

Needs tidying and finishing of, but it is alive.

I wonder if we can put 1000ks on it before Saturday ready for circuit racing at Oran Park

                        • Had a few issues with overfuelling and so pulled the injectors out to see what they are.

They proved to be Mk2 standard digfant ones. Thus thwarted, the car sat around for a few weeks.

Today I bolted the injectors back in and it started first go!!!! A far cry from kjet.

Changed the MAF and it still has heaps of fuel. Runs great above 3000 but has clouds of fuel out the back.

It still has the kjet pump, so could change that but may try an adjustable fuel pressure reg first. I fancy a chrome one with a dial on it

I`m close, you could totally drive it but it probably has the fuel efficiency of a hummer.

Put the bonnet back on and gave it a wash. Took some pics and put it back to bed.

                            • Good to hear it's all sorted. to some degree at least. So is it a dig or kjet now? I've gotten confused in all the confusion.

There in lies your problem! Those injectors are seeing FAR too much fuel pressure. A Mk1 GTI K-jet pump will fuel massive hp
