So, I got something very cool in the mail today...
This has solved some questions and raised others.
Firstly, looks like the twin grille configuration is how the car left the factory. It also appears as though the interior fabric has been changed at some stage, which I'd kind of already guessed at, so good to have this confirmed.
However, the surprise is the documentation stating the car left the factory with a sunroof. I'd love to know when that was removed (presumably due to being a rust trap).
The best part, though, haha, matching numbers - the chassis and engine numbers are correct.
Oddly, this had to be confirmed on a separate piece of paper, due to privacy reasons apparently.

Yup, I had the sunroof removed and a new roof grafted in. The only rust in the car was where the original sunroof had filled up with water and rusted out.
Cool to see its birth certificate and verify that the numbers are correct though.
And haha told you it needed the 4 lamp grille

Here are some ideas lifted from this page on option codes:
(5)89 Fuel-Injected Engine, 1.8L / 82KW
482 Light-Alloy Wheels, 5½J x 13 ET 38
The M code I think is trim based on this snippet.

I just sent the VIN and engine number, along with €35.Originally posted by euroequip View PostHey mate,
What info did you need to give VW to send you out that info? Did you need proof of ownership and so on or just the vin number?
Cheers
Cameron
I'm a bit bummed that the car was in a workshop waiting for a new part on its 30th birthday, though.
