  • My Mk1, Low Wide and Lumpy

So i have had this Mk1 for about 4-5 weeks now.
As far as i know the previous owner is a member on here, so here goes.

    1979 (i think) 4 Door Mk1 Golf

    Engine
    1.6L
Free Oil leaks and a Airleak.
    Sports Filter

    Inside
Carpeted Dash with 4" speakers where vents were.
    Chrome Gear Nob

    Body
    Flares
    Badge less Grill
    Badge Less Tail Gate
GTi (i think) duckbill spoiler thingy

    Rolling Gear
    Firmer shocks
    Lowered Springs

    Wheels

15X7 Speedy Rims with 195/50 tyres
and 13x7 Superlites with 175/70 tyres..

Plans are to just drive it at the moment.
But will Chuck in the 1.8L and 5 speed i got for it.
redo flares better, and paint the same green, or close enough
Tidy inside, new carpet, custom trims, find the plastic trim gear that holds the parcel shelf on. Better suspension gear ect.

Here are some pics, she is rough, but she will be loved soon enough

    Rear Fitment

One with the Daily rims on

    Regards

      Cheers mate,

Bit of a learning curve really, never had a FWD before
Only ever had RWD, so all this FWD stuff is new,

but im getting there, fixed a few small things. But being Winter and in Tassy the weather has been **** house, so once summer kicks in the work will begin

            13x7 superlites.

the silver ones are 15x7 speedy rims, good for daily duties

Fitted the GTi Flares to rear today.
              Fronts to come.

Main reason is the front flares are rather sharp, and im a sucker for the "square" lip.
Took a while,. had to reshape the tabs and what not. also gives the illusion its lower then what it really is XD

Not sure mate, highly doubt it though.. will most likley stay a daily as long as i can, and might find another MK1 to fix up...

Though im loven the look of the Mk3's and they getting cheaper, so might grab one of them down the road for me daily

                  Small Update
Got the GTi Flares on. i like them alot. and im getting less looks from the Boys In Blue. which is always handy.

Since pic, i have straightend the front bumper up, fixed up number plate, put a stock airfilter assembly on... dont have the nice induction noise, and its lost some revs up high, but its quieter, and i dont get the filter smashing ont he firewall effect

Would do, but they scrub too bad, and being 0 offset, it has... "a little poke" lol
