Yeah im eventually going to put all new temp gauges in to match my current Speco ones.

And yeah my corolla had crap under cap for first 2 weeks of driving it after a freshen up. went away and hasnt been back. i know its worse during winter here in tassy, condesation in engine.

ill give it a couple of weeks, but water in bottle was clean, no bubbles or gunk,

And good to know about the pressure, im just paranoid haha, everytime it made a noise today i was like "****, what was that?",

Switch pumped from electric to Mechanical, that fixed like 4 problems but found like 3 more haha.

so went to set float level, one of the floats had broken off. so i Soldered it back on and set level.

      set mixture
and this is the end product (you can hear a slight whine, think the bearing in the tensioner has got noisey

        So

have racked up 70kays on the Golfy since new engine in.

Its quick, would be quicker if i could open up second side of weber without it hesistating.

Also im a bit sick of the Cam in it. it doesnt like me to cruise, and actually uses a fair bit of fuel when "off cam". on cam its nuts, will rev clean off the tacho and will easy pull over 95kays in 2nd.

Going to pull cam out and put the other one back in, hoping i dont loose much power, and hope i get alot more go in lower revs and not have to rev the snot out of it .

So she off the road still, carby problems. hunting down a replacement carby now

Have tidied it up more, hide some wiring under hood and added that plastic wrap stuff.
              Also fitted rear swaybar correctly.

And freshened up the twin headlight grill

yeah im going to, going to see if i can get a spraycan mixed up to neary match the same green. dont plan on repainting the whole car any time soon, so will do for now. and most of it is covered by the flares anyway

you could just carefully use thinners to clean the excess undercoat from outside of the flares..

Or just replace the guards with dark blue rust free ones like i have just done

On a side note, had a electric Dizzy setup with proper coil and everything. dizzy was rooted so i went back to Points Dizzy but kept the Electric igntion coil. will i need a Ballist resistor?

Might have asked before, but i should have golf done by weekend so want to know so i can get one when i buying other stuff

you do need a ballast resistor if your running points.... unfortunately you'll have to fit one cos the diesel downt have the ballast resistor already

It depends on the coil you're using. If you use one out of a petrol golf, then yes, you will need the resistor. The petrol Golfs have a resistive wire in the loom rather than a discrete ceramic resistor.

If you're using an after market coil you can select one that doesn't need a resistor.

For example the Popular Bosch GT40 coils are available for use with (GT40R) or without (GT40) a resistor.

I use GT40 coils in 3 of my cars with no resistor. The cars were all originally diesels.
