Yeah the regs are pretty restrictive depending on the class you enter. With cams classic division there are 3 main sub categories, C1 stock standard showroom only, C2 wheels and brakes are free, suspension upgrades are free (as long as the original pick up points are retained) internal engine mods are allowed as well as induction mods and C3, fully bombed upgrades with no restrictions ie can swap engines etc as long as it was offered by the manufacturer ie no rotaries or v8's in golfs etc. Golf Balls, paul blank runs AEM and as such does not use the cams classifications for his events. As for me this year i was in C2 as i did the suspension, brakes and induction and internal engine mods.

Yeah i may start a thread for the turbo 16V install but knowing me i'll keep it quiet till its done them bombard the forum with pics. ANyone want to know anything else about the car or where i got the roll cage engine gear brakes etc just shoot me an email or if you want to see something in more detail send me an email and i'll take some pics

Just saw this thread. So very, very cool!

I've been to the last couple of Targa Tasmanias as a support crew for a mate and have thought how good it would be to see a Mk1 fanging around!

Volksee we just got our entry confirmation for Targa Wrest Point in January, any plans to come over and join in the fun??? There will be Marti and I in Modern in the R32 and Dave Watson and his Nav in showroom in their R32, it would be great if you guys could join us, we are also entering Targa tas in April so if not January maybe we will see you then as Lima said it would be great to see the car fanging around down there.

                  Cheers Al

hmmmm wrest point hey, have to do a bit of research and see whats what. I'm currently pulling the car down again and fiddling with a bit of a secret project for serious Mk1 homologlated grunt. I'll give you a hint with the Golf 1 (oettinger) 16s

hahahaha glad to see you like the shots and the mk1 pose, you aren't trying if the inside rear isn't in the air are you. We were having a little bit of a go in this shot but i reckon we could have gone harder and got the front up a little too. New suspension is in now so i have even more confidence attacking corners. Should be good to see the targa west video and hopefully they will show us embarrasing a ferrari.

Another shot of the little bit of back end lift, this was a lot harder to achieve in the wet i can tell you and it was hold your breath that she didn't understeer off into the big ditch along the side of the road
