parts of the cage are bolt in because you cannot keep a fully caged car under normal WA road registration rules, full cage requires a change to B Registration which means i can only drive it to tracks or workshops so having the front bolted in allows me to remove the front hoop and still enjoy driving the golf on the road

these discs are custom black diamond numbers measuring 280mm and use a standard GTI calipe with and offset mount for this race only as the metalx pads will destroy these discs over the three days of tarmac rally, in the shed are a set of 288mm Cordoba discs with vr6 calipers which i will fit once the rally is over (cheers to twinengtwinturbos for those too)

I'm definitely turning green with envy. Was hoping to do the same myself but now looks doubtful. I'll be watching your success. Cheers

Thats it she's all complete and ready for battle in this years Targa West Tarmac rally (This coming weekend for those WA guys who want to come and watch!!!) Still has a few minor things to tidy up like roll cage padding etc and a damn good wash to remove the dust but it drives and man is it fun!!!!!!!!! I thought my 911 was an awesome drive but with this i just can't wipe the smile from my face as it spins in 2nd under accelaration.

Front end shot, sorting out bonnet release cable

The bored and stroked 8v on 45DCOE, titanium valve gear and a 290 deg cam, loves it after 4000rpm all the way to 8500

          Garage shot

Ronal 15 x 7's tucked (just under the flares will be interesting with the 215 R comps on!!!!

Inside shot, stripped for business only! New brake light switch installed on the brake pedal

            Back end in black

            The VOLKSEE lives again

Another door card shot, super stoked with these

              The back

My solution to a rear disc conversion brake proportioning problem, stupid VW wants $350 for a scirroco unit but then states they are unavailable so a couple of willwood brake proportioning valves have been installed on the rear lines to allow custom adjustment of the rear bias and give a motorsport flavour to the car. Got these trade price from vpm motorsport $125 each, suck on that VW!!!!!!

              The other side

all the crap to still clean out, wouldn't believe how much dust is still in the car grrrrrrrr

Side on shot, these rims are nice and phat, cheers Dom & Tim

                Front on shot

Bottom strut brace and antisway bar installed

Completely new front and rear suspension components, everything was changed including the rack boots and bearings

                The VOLKSEE

The 280mm brakes just bedded in on metalx pads by pagid. 24mm m/c gives a nice solid feel

last pics for now, more when i wash and polish it and then some photos in full attack. Will be racing in targa west (www.targawest.com.au) for those interested in having a look.

only 136km since the ground up rebuild, best 136km drive i think i have every done too in damp conditions, third gear full throttle still gets the tyres struggling for grip.

Interior looking in (have new black factory carpet to go in but can't see the point at this stage)

Cooling the brakes after setting the rear brake proportioning, these were nice and hot hehehehehehehe

Glad to see someone is making use of those ronals!

although, please paint the part of the rad support behind the front badge, black. would look much better imo.
