Also pretty jealous of that nice 'rocco.
You can never have enough Mk1 rocco spares, there is already a huge list of NLA parts for them.

Car aint that nice either, its a bit of a bodywork nightmare. Twill get around to it once more room is available in the shed...
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...

I feel ya. I drive a far from perfect W108 Benz around far too much, and looking at that photo of your 'rocco I imagine driving that would be just as satisfying!

        • mk1 1982 cabrio gti sorted at last !!!!,!new coil , distributer and ignition switch as well , drove down to the shopping centre and boom the clutch went to the floor 8 pm at night hahahaha , in the car park !
So lucky i orderd a spare clutch cable a month ago , so off i went into the shops to aquire a little torch and had my manual there too ... took me an hour and a half to put it in but hey it was the first time at fitting a cable , tricky under the pedals i must add !!! the problem was the old rubber grommet went through the hole in the fire wall , cos it was a left hand drive the hole was to big on the right hand side ! so as it happend the grommet cut its way through .....

          • haha! I have a similar story!

I kept hearing this creaky/scratchy noise on my way to uni one day, I didn't think much of it. but I pull into the car park, put my foot on the clutch whilst slowing down and snap! it went, lucky i was in first, and right near a spot, so I rolled into a spot, went and borrowed a cable off my mate, and then replaced it for the first time in the middle of the car park! in a nice part of town too! gold!

            • Common problem, there is a repair patch available if the firewall hole is cracked or to big.

My car ?? had to do a new radiator fit up last night, was overheating during the day... so quick inspection after work and the socialising netted a buggered end tank. Good thing I have a few spares on the shelf..

                        • I cleaned today.
Scrubbed the dirt out of two wheel arches, cut and polished some of it to see what i could do (i now know the whole thing has to be buffed, so much fading!),
tried to remove the original VW/Leyland dealership sticker from the back window intact, but it crumbled. Might still be able to get one reproduced though.

Bought a new gear linkage kit!

I'll advise you guys to remove your badges and give the paint a clean behind them. When I removed the VOLKSWAGEN badge i thought there was a rubber gasket the length of the badge... turns out it was dirt.

                          • New shoes

After my trip to Centre Rd. Wreckers, I fitted new seat runners and my new wheels and tyres, with the longer bolts. They're Mk1 Mazda MX5 alloys (14") which I reckon look pretty cool and a very econ. way to get the MiniLite-look. I'll post pics later today...It drives so much better too!!

                            • Keen to see that Mark! I pushed my MX5 wheels aside and had em sitting there for ages before I sold the TE37's that replaced them.
