Yesterday - figured out how to bolt in my new Recaros (think we can put the back seat in buy ourselves). Decided to retrim the door cards, spent a while in Spotlight picking out fabric, decided on a black/blue tartan. Will be starting the gluing process tonight
He gets a good rap all the time, and he's got huge amounts of experience

towed the project to Midas (for new infill piece for extractors to existing system) to be told I need to wrap them to avoid heat issues with the steering rack boot and also fouling with the body.....
then towed it home again...and pulled it apart to rectify....
(did a few other things and picked up a couple of rare bargains at the VWCV Swap....funny thing, some of the 'unusual characters' of 20 years ago in Air-cooled scene are still around......)

1. Adjusted the rear drums and handbrake.
2. Realigned the washer switch on the column so it would work properly again.

cool, am keen to do some suspension work on my cabrio. I'm dreaming of a Golf Workshop Christmas with new bearings brake pads, discs, shoes, reprofiled drums, suspension and maybe some tyres once all the dirty work is done!

are you still using a standard carb on the modified engine?
yeh Preeny's old engine needs AT LEAST a DGAV Weber.
preferrably a 45 DCOE, or bigger!
If your running a stock carb on that donk your choking the life out of it!

This is what that engine is:
-Bored and stroked to US spec 1.7l.
-Balanced and countweighted crank.
-11:1 compression pistons(can't remember the brand).
-Head is ported and polished.
-G grind European GTI camshaft.
-44 IDF Weber carburettor.
-modified, ported and port matched inlet manifold to suit weber.
-Custom tuned length 4 into 1 extractors and a 2.5 inch exhaust.
-Lightened flywheel.
-All internals have been balanced.
Yeah, you guys we're right all along...............I'm running that silly Weber that came off ebay UK...anyone got a better Weber they want to sell ??...wonder if the current one can be re-jetted ???
(do any performance Webers fit the standard VW Golf manifold ??)
