        • Pulled out the drivers side engine mount for iteration #xyz modification... Actually I am just going back to a previous modification that worked in the past. Fill all the holes in the rubber mount with sikaflex, let it cure, use it. During the last engine build I decided to go a bit more rigid than that and cut off just the large top insert piece from one of those god-awful red poly engine mount inserts, and inserted that thinking it shouldn't mean much more vibration. I was wrong.

Also the other day I spent about 2 hours playing around with the idling. I have come to realise the haltech is useless at controlling the factory ABF idle stabiliser, it is too slow to react and ends up allowing the idle to over shoot the target rpm on both low and high side, ever so slowly getting closer to the target rpm while fluctuating all over the place. So now I only use the stabiliser to maintain idle up until the engine is warm enough to hold idle on its own. The hard part is getting the idle right under all different loads ie no significant electricals on vs headlights on vs headlights + thermal fan on. Its a pain in the ar5e! You really have to play around to get it right. Its pretty good now, turn key when cold, don't have to touch the accel ever.

          • Pulled out both drive-shafts, time for some new CVs on. The drivers side outer is starting to make a bit of noise. I am surprised they have lasted this long, they are what came with the car some 8 or so years ago.. I have to say this has been the most painless, cleanest driveshaft\CV removal so far, the CV gods have smiled upon me

                        • ooh , exciting day for the Mk1 Rocco today.
Matt says " bring it around this arvo, we can put your new motor in today "
                          I says " but I wont be there till 4pm , is there enough time ? "
Matt " yeah, no prob "
Well I must say that they slotted that Beautiful new motor in , in record time, I was Very Impressed.
now I have a Twin Engined Rocco.
                          UNREAL.
One small problem though Matt, it , ummm , didnt go any better than before.
In fact , I suspect it goes worse.
                          Maybe a bit of tuning.....
Maybe the engines are out of Sync.

                          Any suggestions Matt ?
