Better of buying the whole kit in one go. Otherwise if you pay someone to do it you get charged twice, unless you do it yourself which you need to be pretty mechanically minded.

i have a mate of mine that can help me out and just do it real cheap sorta thing but idk what i think i will do is just get the wheels and tyres then just see how it looks and if it looks **** for a month or 2 while i save too back i guess... might just have to do it all at once or something or maybe even buy some cheap second hand springs for the meantime haha

I've had lowered springs on mine for about 4 years and no issues with the struts yet - when they go I'll go coilovers but they've lasted a lot longer than expected.
lhennessy upload a side profile of your car and I can photo-shop some black Omanyts on it for you.

Thanks poyta, I have a picture here that I photoshopped but the acctuall photo is quite dark as it was done at about 8pm so the wheels look really bright. I tried to do black but I'm not very good with photoshop.

                Here's my attempt.

I think the black Omanyts look good but have to agree with some others here that the chrome just looks terrible - especially with the dark look you're going for with the wheels it stands out like dogs balls. It's kind of the like people who buy whos dark series of Harleys and then go and put chrome pipes on them. My suggestion would be replace all the chrome with carbon fibre - even if you buy some of that fancy 3M Di-Noc carbon film.

Poyta I agree. I'm going to plasti dip the wheels and rips the Pillars and mirror caps off probably keep the handles as they are the original item I bought and I love them. If the black looks **** and I peel the dip off, then I might keep the not sure.

I got the handles and loved them so though as they were cheap I'd try the chrome theme but I'm really over it have been thinking about ripping the mirrors and pillars off since they went on haha.

Not sure if I'd replace with gloss black or carbon... Not a huge fan or carbon but it does look good on golfs...

And thanks for the photoshop gotta say I absolutely love your GT! How are you finding the R brakes? Looking at going down that path after wheels and suspension...
GTI is cheaper but doesn't look as nice as R...

You're more than welcome. I personally find the R Brakes are all about "wank factor" really - they look fantastic but in terms of regular street driving don't offer a lot more stopping power than the GTi brakes. I'd imaging at a race track with some serious regular braking from very high speeds there might be a difference but I'll be honest I got them for the looks and don't think there's anything wrong with that.

                    • Thanks, and if i was to go the R/R32 Brakes it would simply be to fill the 18's No huge difference for everyday driving... even my stock 288mm TDI brakes are great for everyday...i think i might head down the GTI path and if i have some big funds later down the track might go R... Im currently speaking to a member that has a R32 kit for sale... see what price he is after without his rotors (he has very pricey rotors) and go from there if the price is right... but otherwise there is two sets of MK6 GTI brakes for sale here

Been thinking about it more since i saw your photoshop of the black omanyt's... if it looks good then ill be ripping the chrome mirrors and pillars and plasti dip them to match the wheels. Should look good nice aggressive look down the track GTI Front with Blue or maybe yellow Strip and R32 or Colour coded GTI rear to top it off

Looking at a set of BBS wheels now that i only just realized the potential for at a bargain price...until i get a reply these are staying under wraps for a surprise and to get some mystery in the diesel thread as its so damn dead and boring lately!
