The Car: 2006 United Grey 6 Speed Manual 2.0 TDI (BKD) Picked this up with 82,000KM's and Factory Fitted Leather and Sunroof.

Ok, So it has been a long time since i have updated this thread.
Basic explanation is Laziness and i had removed a lot of mods from the car as i was going to be striping it and selling it, but in the end i love the little oiler and couldn't do it.

Long story short i had good coilovers and wheels and work done then almost sold it, then decided not to sell after selling most of my mods and started again, then got sick of ****ty cheap coilovers and got bags and nicer wheels and finally did the whole body kit.

Looks good man, exactly the car I was originally but couldn't find one at my time of purchase
I would also suggest color coding the front bumper and door trim moulds to UG, will lift the look of the immensely

Nah good choice on UG

Moulds shouldn't be too much, i got charged about $100 I think when I had mine done
But depends on the panelshop and if you pull them off yourself and sand them down it'll be even cheaper

TDI, manual and P-Plates?


Ironically, this afternoon I put the finishing touches on my sub/amp install. Just an el-cheapo Sony 12" in a box, and a 450W Fusion amp I got from a mate for like $50.
Plus wiring kit, all up around $200. And a lot of pain and anguish getting it all in. XD




IMO, you should forego the chrome and just go CF on all the extra bits like mirrors, etc.
Maybe its just me, but I think chrome looks super-tacky.

As far as the centre gauges go, if you're a little tech-savvy then you could just do what I did - grab Torque Pro (Android - there are iPhone equivalents, too) and run it off a Bluetooth OBD-II scanner!!



Interior lights you can get from SCA for like $5.
Don't know about the Golf, but my Octy has 4x T10 bulbs and 2x (36mm I think) festoons.

Try and find someone with a TSI intake, and give that a go on the TDI.
I've compared my engine bay (125TDI) with that of a Golf Cabrio (118TSI) and they look identical - this leads me to believe that a TSI intake will work fine... But I don't wanna lay down $1k and have it go pear shaped. XD
Pod filter won't work. It'll throw a CEL. I've already tried.

Thanks for the tips, have organised interior LEDs they will be coming in a few weeks from a fellow member.
Intake I think that you can use the end half of it but not a full intake pipe as from what I have heard it doesn't bolt on right at the start of the piping but the end will I think.
(Have found a K&N small intake with a just the last section and a K&N filter can link you if you like)

I was planing on building a nice false floor for the boot to have everything nice a neat but it wouldn't be cheap.

As for the chrome iv always thought the same thing. I'm going to do the handles and then see if I like it.. The mirrors I think will look abit much but carbon also kinda looks abit tacky but I cannot stand the pillars as there are and iv order the handles as they were cheap

Ordered a few cheap things.

Chrome Handles, Short Antenna and Heater Dials will be sure to put some pictures up when I receive each one

Just saw this. Not always, missus lives just off prinny in Clayton. But been flat out with work and this Saturday/Sunday was first time I've been in the area in ages
