  • Recall?

Just picked up my 125kw CC from some warranty work.. There's apparently a new recall order coming to owners soon.. Dealer indicated that Tig / Passat owners may be getting a letter soon... Dealer also indicated it might be injector related??
Additionally my dealer offered advice that all diesels with old school injectors will have 7 years instead of 3 years warranty. Also that they have been directed to replace all injectors and the loom at failure.. Hopefully VWA are being proactive???

Can confirm some family members got the letter a couple of days ago with their 2L Tig.

      Very very interesting.
I knew that there were issues with the 125kw Siemens injectors (well documents in the diesle section) however the Tig runs the 103kw engine so this may either be a bigger issue than originally thought or a seperate issue all together.

Dealer wasn't able to provide me with much info on the issue, but i had only seen it as it was written on the job sheet for my warranty repairs (seats and seals). todayafter picknig the car up (over night repairs!) i had asked him about the recall and said i would be receiving a letter soon from VW and that Tig owners had already received some. i asked him what about (maybe the injectors) and he then went into dealer mode and advised that VW was ordering dealers to replace all faulty injectors / loom and that the usual warranty term (3years) didn't apply and that it was now 7 years for injector failure.

The Van's also run a 103kW engine... wonder if it will extend to them as well (although I am yet to receive anything for mine).

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

I'm just about 100% certain that VAG arent selling any cars with PD engines anymore (unless you can still buy something with a 1.9).

After the mk6 golf came out, all the VW diesels are commonrail. Skoda's were sold with PD engines a little longer (getting rid of what engines vw had left i guess)

                        ian, your car is PD.

Yep and it looks like the PD injectors are not part of this recall, this is a common rail thing only.

Bummer, still the injectors are being recalled in the UK at least.....

I got the recall letter friday (2009 mk6 2.0tdi) , dont know whether its a good thing or a bad thing at the moment ...

my 60k service is coming up and was hoping to get it done at a location other than the dealer, but my time shortage will probably mean ill get the two done at once.
