way back from work on the freeway, thought i'd see how slow the old girl goes.... relatively flat, i had about 400m of road until the next cars - the old 1.5 n/a managed 145, still had plenty of pedal left too!
thats not bad at all for 33kw's

Hi guys,
just filled the polo up for the first time. Dad and i worked it out we got an economy of 5.67L/100km around town and thats on a tight engine.
what are you guys getting economy wise?
Hi,
I've got Golf V 2.0L Tdi DSG done 1500km and today when I filled up I've got an economy of 6.2L/100km mostly city driving and short trips too. Lowest I saw while driving 65km/h throgh several intersections at night was 4.2L/100km and at the end of that 22km trip computer was saying 4.9L/100km.
I'm also aware that some petrol station cheat and we pay for more fuel than we have in the tank.
Yeah, but don't forget Ayden's Mk1 has a 5 speed. Is that an overdrive box, Ayden?
My Mk1 gets to 110kph no probs but has a real struggle to hold it once it gets to a hill.
it would have to be because the ratios on the GTi 5 speed would be way to short for the diesel powerband...

I was travelling last weekends on my Passat Wagon 07 TDI from sydney to melbourne. It was able to do 1040km/ full tank (70L) with aircond all the way.
My engine was only 1668km on the clock. It was showing a pretty good fuel
consumption. I am very happy only cost me $84 dollars for fuel a week in melb (dandenong, st kilda, glen waverly, springvale, richmond, mount martha and boxhill( pickup my jamo before heading home to sydney).
I saved big dollars on air ticket..( 4 persons x airticket). I claimed it all through my company.. business expenses...
I believed it should do more when my engine lose.. I booked for oil and oil filter
change this saturday at Barlworld..(32xxkm)..
around town i avg 7.5L/100km in my 07 2.0 tdi golf and thats with the powerchip turned off. admittedly i drive it pretty hard but to tell the truth i'm a little disappointed with the fuel consumption... best ive gotten is 830km which included a trip to canberra doing 120km/h (130 speedo) all the way. btw its got 9k on the clock. maybe its time for an oil change? will that help?
My vr6 13.5 L/ 100kms lol not very fuel economical in the city highway driving to Penrith I got it down to about 8.2L / 100kms wasn't to bad still the dielsels beat it lol
my thoughts are with you dude.
I am happy to get my vr6 to 10/100.
It may sound sad but I play a game with myself driving from uni to home I try to get below 10L/100 in a 12.5km journey. if i get 9.5 I am over the moon.
One time at 2:30 in the morning no traffic, from city to parramatta on epping rd I got 7.3/ 100.
For all you ppl with TDI out there, just curious, how much is it for a tank. over 1000-1500km/ tank is amazing. Those are astronomical numbers how I see it.
