Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Roc scheduled servicing - VIC

    Hi all

My roc is approaching 15k and due for a first service. I didn't buy my car from Victoria so I have no loyalty to any dealers here - but I genuinely would like some feedback on where to take the car for service? I have no mods and just want log book treatment that hopefully won't cost an arm or a leg for a bit of oil and a pampering.

I'm assuming because of the engine being the same as the golf R there is no 'specialisation' required for working on a Roc?

Any suggestions or experiences? pref is close to Melb city CBD.

Did you go to a computer store yesterday and get thumbs up from some random people across the road?

Find a reputable independent mechanic, rather than stealership servicing. One of the vic crew should be able to point in you in the right direction

Not exactly Melbourne CBD, but at Dandenong you will find RTR who do all servicing and modifications on European cars, including quite a few GTi's and R's from this forum and VWGolf.net.au

Mine was set to 15k as well.

Had mine serviced before the 15k mark came around at the local VW dealership for $350 all up.....appears to be a decent price?

Mine is also set for 7500 - which i'll tick over this week

Why the difference? Need I do it? Or can I wait til 15k? If I do - will it affect warranty?
