You shouldnt have any dramas with the OZ Racing wheels.. they are right up there with BBS etc so quality and info is extremely good.
To be honest.. Forged wheels are probably not worth the extra you pay unless you are super serious about weight savings etc.. The cost difference is massive.

Personally.. I would stick to tyre sizes you can get here.. I would buy them from Tirerack though... at least that way if your ever have a major tyre failure you are not waiting a week or more to get a replacement.. and you are more likely to damage a rim on 255x30 than on 255x35.

They really dont affect your speedo much and they help to fill the guards better.... plus the ride is a little bit better...

No real need to go with different sizes front to rear... in fact you are better not to as it means you can balance tyre wear across all 4 tyres...and then the rims are all the same size as well...
I guess it all depends on the look you want... mine are probably 1/2 an inch too wide on the rear.. but the look is fabulous with the deep lips on the rear.

Thanks Andy as always you have been very helpful with heaps of info. I would probably only do wheels and rubbers and get the BBK to fit it afterwards once I am absolutely sure.

I really need better tyres so will change rims too. I eventually end up deciding the OZ Racing Ultraleggera HLT which was my first preference, have been looking at Rays G25 and ADV10 which are forged, but ADV and HRE are just too much for me at the moment, don't need very precise customisation, so will pick something off the shelf. BBS are really good wheels, but the ET is a problem for aggressive looking without a spacer.

On the tyres, I am thinking 255 x 30, Michelin doesn't do this in Australia, but can source them from overseas, do you think the 30 will give more and obvious road noise than the 35? Now I just need to work out whether to run the same spec all around, or 255 front and 265 rear...As you say not cheap upgrade so want to get things right in the beginning. I know lots of RWD runs fatter tyres at rear, but not sure if it is necessary for FWD.

Thanks Andy, OK I decide to do same size all around. I was actually getting Tirerack to send me the tyres too, and AMG Australia for the rims, I can take my time to apply sealant to the rims and have them fitted and balanced afterwards to keep my life easy.

Yeah I agree the forged wheels are really for rigidity which I don't think I would need unless being a frequent track racer. Probably not even needed if just doing drag racing. Save money for another set of 18" for track if I ever go.

Cool! Do you have the part number if you don't mind? I have been considering Brembo 6 piston too with their Type 3 rotors. I know they made a kit specifically for the R.

Mine are for the MkIV R32. Replacement rotors are harder to get. If I did my brakes over again I'd get the Scirocco R kit just to save the hassle.

Thanks Bec, you were up early! The Brembo only makes 4 piston for the Scirocco R, not big enough sitting behind 19 inch wheels imo, so will try to get a 6 piston one and deciding the size of rotors by then, likely 350/355 whichever is available with the Brembo Type 3 rotors.

Guys, I need some objective advice pls! How do you think about this CE28N in bronze on a white Roc? Looks pretty hot imo...I may want to reconsider my preference of doing black under white.

You will find that 255 rubber is a good size.. while it plays a little with your speedo.. I would go with 255x35 in the Michelin Pilot Supersports... best tyre out there... IMO anyway.

I will second that, the 255x35 Michelin Supersports is what I am running, probably the best I have experienced.

Thanks buddy, will very likely go with that spec, though a bit thicker tyre than stock (235/35), I think 30 on 255 is probably too thin for street use and more noises. Do you mind of posting a photo of yours?

They do give a nice ride which is important to me. They grip but are not to harsh, I am too old to have my spine crushed driving some of the crappy roads I have to. I had a major drama with how harsh the tyres were on my 370Z.

The Sydney roads aren't better, most of roads I drive every day are very crappy too, maybe there aren't better roads so I am really considering to get some comfortable rubbers but also allows me set the coilover to the right height that suites me.

Change from a RWD to FWD, how do you find the differences in driving experience just out of curiosity?

I was totally sold on the Roc as soon as I drove it. The Z was good, I had it for three years but it was an out and out sports car, so could be a bit severe at times, especially as mine had a few mods. The manual RWD was enjoyably, especially when you threw it round a few corners with high revs. The Roc is totally different as it covers everything, it can be my daily comfortable driver, but when you open it up, it does fly. However being FWD you do have to watch how this is delivered, I am happy I have the DSG to assist, as a manual may be a bit hairy especially as I have now got it tuned.
