  • I had new my Scirocco R with DSG (Rising Blue) delivered to me with a full tank of fuel for $48,990 drive away. This was in April 2012.

It was from a country NSW dealer (Orange).

These cars come with a USB cable new which I didn't realise don't work with iPhones/iPods. The dealer sent me an iPhone/iPod connector in the mail, free of charge. Pretty good service if you ask me.

I think if you want a good deal and don't mind Viper Green, then many dealers are willing to off load them.

Wow that seems to be a really good deal for a new one with DSG! Don't know if the prices in general have gone up since a year ago, I paid a similar price but for a manual tranmission and no options.

        Thanks,

I saw it on Carsales and put down a deposit straight away and sorted out the details over the phone/email. Pretty painless.

I was originally looking at getting a GTI but availability was tricky with the options I wanted. It was either wait for one or get one with a bunch of options I didn't really want. I needed a car straight away.

Ironic that the car with the longer waiting list was the one I ended up getting. I had initially not bothered as they only had started getting deliveries in Feb and the local dealers were just dreaming with their pricing. After test driving one having test driven a GTI and a new WRX I was sold.

It only cost a touch more than a GTI with Xenons, DSG and Leather so I was pretty happy I went this route.

                      Good deal!

There was no such price bargaining when you pre-order right after the launch announcement

                        • Hey Pomme, what dealer in Brissie was this? I've been to Springwood and Mt Gravatt and I'm struggling to get a no options car on the road for any less than the RRP. The salesmen are great but the sales managers are just idiots.

                          • That was bryan byrt, its leased through leaseplan, so the leasing company gets some good deals. I was talking to another salesman at newstead who was talking about 48-49k drive away stock with a corporate discount, but i might have had trouble getting that discount and leasing suited me better.

I'm fairly sure there is a my12 black rocco sitting at the gold coast vw, with no options at all. You might get lucky if you ring them up and offer something. You'd surely get a discount just because its build date was last year. There should be a stock my13 black one landing soon too. Not sure if i was supposed to find out where all the stock was, but it was nice to see where everything was landing and when. These are all manuals btw... can't stand dsg.

                            • Thanks Pomme, this will be privately funded rather than leasing. I'll try the Gold Coast guys, have heard good things about them.

                              • Candy White DSG Scirocco for $52k, no options but got them to tint the front windows to match the back. Would have preferred a manual but the sound from the exhaust with the DSG was hard to resist
Picking it up next week (hopefully) ready for the Easter long weekend.
