tough call. personally for the extra few $K I'd probably take the new car. but the lightly used model is certainly the smarter choice financially. it's already taken some depreciation and you could keep it for another year or two and then sell it without loosing too much money.
if the car has the options you want then I say go the lightly used model. but perhaps try and negotiate down another thousand or two to make it a clearer choice. I have seen a lot of people asking stupid prices for their used cars. if they are asking too much just walk away. there will always be another one.
