Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      Are they smoothed or textured.

No argument the improvement over what the car was in silver is massive!

      • Good stuff Matt, the colour looks alot better on the car than i thought it would tbh, really suits it and looks like an amazing job gleaming off the gun like that. Will be awesome to see it back together.

        • Rocco Flares are smooth from the factory.

Early Mk2 Sciroccos up to 1987 had black bodykits, after that they were all colour coded.

Just making mine look more modern and tidy.

I`m keeping the BBS wheels and I reckon they will look fine with the Green.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, the colour is better in the flesh than I hoped it would be.

I`m meant to get the car back on wednesday with the bodykit painted and fitted. Can have it back together in a couple of days I hope.

              Thanks mate.

I think there are about 12 Mk2 Roccos in Oz.

There is a thread somewhere on here with all the sightings
              Either way, pretty rare.

I`m going away from the Silver because most people just think its a DeLorean!
Plus the Green is a much better colour.

                • I remember that colour coming out Matt - they always save the best colours to the end.

You must be chuffed, really looks nice that - I cant recall when I last saw one that colour but it would be at least 13 years ago.

Cant wait to see it with the kit on!

                  Congratulations - nice choice!

It runs, still need to make and fit headlining, fit all the sealed windows, fit dash and interior, get a pink slip and some rego. Then drive 800ks on an interstate roadtrip. No worries. see you in the field
